Ağustosla birlikte yeni bir sıcak hava dalgasının etkilerinin görülmeye başladığını belirten Altay, “Zaten normal şartlarda yaz aylarında bazı hastaları risk grubu olarak değerlendiriyorduk. Ancak son yıllarda mevsim normallerinin üzerine çıkan sıcaklıklar ölümcül sonuçlara yol açabiliyor. Özellikle kalp ve hipertansiyon hastaları yaz döneminde çok dikkatli olmaları gerekiyor.” dedi.
Altay, aşırı sıcakların görüldüğü günlerde risk grubundaki hastaların mümkün olmadıkça dışarıya çıkmaması gerektiğini vurguladı.
Yaz aylarında sıvı tüketiminin öneminin altını çizen Altay, tuz ve şeker içeriği yüksek içeceklerden kaçınılması önerisinde bulundu.
Risk grubundaki hastaların dikkatli olmaları gerektiğini dile getiren Altay şunları kaydetti:
“Özellikle kalp ve hipertansiyon hastaları sıcaklığın en yüksek dereceye ulaştığı zamanlarda zorunlu haller dışında dışarıda bulunmamalı. Bu hastalar dışarı çıkacaklarsa günün erken saatlerinde ve gece serinliğinde dışarı çıkmalarını öneriyoruz. Bu gruptaki hastaların sıvı tüketimine dikkat etmeleri gerekli. Sıvı kayıpları bu hastalarda tansiyon düşüklüğüne ve kalp yetersizliğinde ilerlemelere neden oluyor. Bayılma, aritmi ve birçok probleme yol açabiliyor. O yüzden suyu muhakkak uygun biçimde tüketmeleri gerekiyor. İlaçlarını aksatmadan kullanmaları, eğer uzun bir tatile çıkacaklarsa doktorlarına muayene olup gitmeleri gerekiyor.”
