Demir, Türkiye’nin, Filistin’e saldırılarını sürdüren İsrail’e yönelik ihracat kısıtlamasına ilişkin yaptığı yazılı açıklamada, iktidarın “halkın baskısı sonucu bu kararı almak zorunda kaldığını” ileri sürerek, şunları kaydetti:

- CHP olarak, İsrail’e yapılan ihracatın kısıtlanması kararını destekliyoruz. Ancak bu kararın, ülkemizin çıkarlarını ve bölgemizin barışını korumak için yetersiz kaldığını düşünüyoruz.
- İktidar Gazze’ye yönelik saldırıları kınarken, İsrail ile ticaretini sürdürmüş ve kısıtlama kararını 185 günlük gecikmeyle almıştır.
- Bu durum iktidarın halkımızın taleplerine ve uyarılarına ne kadar duyarsız olduğunun göstergesidir.
İsrail’e yapılan ihracat kısıtlaması kararının halkın vicdanının sesi olduğunu vurgulayan Demir, şu ifadeleri kullandı:
- Bu kararın, ticareti tümüyle durduracak şekilde genişletilmesi gerekmektedir. İktidarı, İsrail’in Gazze’ye yönelik saldırılarını destekleyen, haksızlığa ve zulme göz yuman bir ülkeyle ticaret yapmayı derhal durdurmaya davet ediyoruz.
