Polis meydana gelen kaza sonucu yaralanan Martin Derbyshire, Lefkoşa Devlet Hastanesi’ne kaldırılarak acil serviste yapılan ilk yardım tedavisinde sağ kalça kırığı tespit edilmiş olup, ortopedi servisinde müşahede altına alındığını hayati tehlikesinin şimdilik olmadığı ancak ameliyat istemesi durumu oluşa bileceğini mahkemeye aktardı.
Polis kaza sonrası araç sürücü zanlı İbrahim Filiz’in tutuklandığı, ZUB 614 plakalı aracın başkası adına kiralandığı ve zanlının kullanma yetkisi olmadığı ayrıca sigortanın kapsamadığını belirtti. Polis memuru Topal aktarmış olduğu olgular ışığında müştekinin de sağlık durumunun netleşmesi açısında ilk etapta zanlının 2 gün poliste tutuklu kalmasını talep etti.
Huzurunda verile şahadeti değerlendiren Kıdemli Yargıç Cenkay İnan, zanlıların soruşturma maksatlı 2 gün poliste tutuklu kalmasına emir verdi.
